![]() When I create an iron golem I only use ELITE BASES (eth for added steez when I have extras ). If you're teleporting around with revives up chances are he will never take a single hit, let alone die, and he is capable of taking a little heat even with only 1x pt in mastery. I was not paying attention typing/etc and let him and my merc get swarmed without revives up. 9/10 times I lose my golem it's one of two reasons. I have only 1x pt into each golem and 1x point in golem mastery. He has an enigma most importantly, but also a white wand that has +1 revive on it- so I usually have a small army even though I'm not a SUMMONER. I'm going to reiterate what others have said and also add my own two cents.Īll this information comes from playing my BONE NECRO on D2R. Really a 1-point wonder in the golem, summon resist and golem mastery will be good enough for a lower boundary to spend an insight, but there is no upper limit where your golem will ever become invincible. I don't think the one-off breakpoint for the iron golem is necessarily higher than the other golems. Your golem never has more survivability than you, but with regular encounters it probably never really dies when tanking on its own. Throw a might aura or a cursed affix into the mix and there aren't really any entity in the game that can stand up to that pummeling for more than a few seconds.Īs a rule of thumb, unless you are playing hardcore with the hardcore mindset, you are likely the biggest golemkiller yourself. For instance, cows are especially rough on summons, as the summon AI will easily get ringed by MANY cows at the same time. The golems are not invincible, regardless of how many points you put in. Never really used the iron golem much, so I am going to answer based on a lot of experience in general, having used the clay golem for 95% of my necro playtime.
